About Physics Etc.
Our Mission
Physics Etc is dedicated to demystifying the mathematical foundations of physics for students, enthusiasts, and lifelong learners. While many resources offer high-level overviews or deep academic research, there is often a gap in explaining how the math actually works to describe physical laws. This site aims to fill that gap by breaking down classic derivations and concepts into accessible, step-by-step articles.
About the Author
This site is curated by me, Gabe, a former Physics Teaching Fellow with a good background in math and physics. Due to a disability, I now work primarily from home, where I focus on self-directed study and things I can do on my computer.
During my time teaching undergraduates, I often found that while students understood the concepts conceptually, the barrier to entry was frequently the specific mathematical techniques used in derivations. I created Physics Etc. to be the resource I wish I could have pointed my students to—a place where the "language" of physics is taught alongside the physics itself.
Whether you are a student struggling with your first calculus-based physics course, or a hobbyist wanting to understand why the wave equation is so significant to Relativity, this site is designed for you.
Editorial Standards
All articles on Physics Etc. are based on standard university-level textbooks and historical primary sources (such as Newton's Principia). We strive for accuracy and clarity. If you find an error or have a suggestion for a topic, please [contact us].
